Blackbraes Road

Budget: £2.2 Million

Blackbraes Road, East Kilbride

A crescent of split-level townhouses has been moulded into the existing topography of the hillside. This has the effect of creating a building that fits with the natural contours and landscaping of the site. It is two storey to the upper side of the hill and three storey to the lower side. Viewed from afar it gives a soft edge to the hill at Blackbraes and gives definition, frontage and protection to the green edge.

The living rooms and kitchen dining areas are situated to rear of the crescent to take advantage of the views. The living rooms are at first floor level and have a large balcony. The kitchen/dining areas are at garden level to provide potential for deck and patio areas to the gardens.

The flats are orientated to take maximum advantage of the views and aspect and also to ensure that no properties are looking into rear gardens.

The living areas to flats are also located to take best advantage of the views.
The existing natural landscaping will be enhanced with planting, ensuring that the character and natural wildlife habitats are maintained.

A new play area and footpath connection will be created and the existing play area will be upgraded.
